The ‘R-word’: Group launches PR blitz to curb its use

The word ‘retard’ is tweeted once every three seconds. If you’re among the people tweeting it, an organization would like you to knock it off—or else it might expose you.

If you’re among the people tweeting this word, someone is watching you.

Specifically, TheSocialChallenge.org is watching—and it would like you to knock it off.

The Social Challenge is an awareness campaign by MyLifeWay, an Illinois-based organization, to help curb the use of the word and build a “community of equality.”
