Starbucks found a solution to its dilemma, choosing to go all Arnold Schwarzenegger, circa “Kindergarten Cop,” in its approach. The coffeehouse will close the restrooms at 190 Manhattan locations, converting them into employee-only. Says a source close to the plan, “Starbucks cannot be the public bathroom in the city anymore.”

Even if you could pay to use Starbucks’ “facilities,” you’d save more than you would buying a 30-second spot during the Oscars. According to reports, ABC is asking between $1.6 million to $1.7 million per half-minute commercial.

Now that the Golden Globes have Ricky Gervais returning, we wonder what about the ads during the telecast? Gervais might not be a favorite of the Hollywood Foreign Press, but the British funnyman the can sure pull in an audience.
