You know what is a four-letter word? Zone, as in the dangerous kind, and the highway to get there is being repaved. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 1986 film Top Gun is being converted into a 3D film for an early-2012 theatrical release. “I feel the need … the need, for speed.” Let’s get this done quick, Hollywood.

Speaking of flying, turns out that while keeping our friendly skies safe, a few TSA officers from New York and Florida were busy helping illegally ship “tens of thousands of oxyocodone pills,” a highly-addictive prescription drug.

Not flying so high himself: Another CEO has been given the “Carol Bartz” treatment. This time around the casualty is Tom Williams, former president of Reader’s Digest Association. He will be replaced by board member Robert Guth.
