Unexpected on-air incidents happen,, “Good Day LA” reporter Lauren Sanchez proved that even seasoned new anchors sometimes slip up—and sometimes it happens thousands of feet above the ground. Real estate hunters anticipating the Silicon Valley housing bubble to burst will have to wait now that Facebook IPO has created an army of new millionaires looking to buy in the area—price not really an issue. Groupon, meanwhile, might be showing signs that its IPO wasn’t the greatest idea; the daily deal pioneer reported a loss in its first quarter after going public. Google, however, is looking to gain—that is, if the online mecca gets its way. After buying Motorola Mobility, the Web giant has asked the Institute of Electrical, Electronics Engineers for a maximum 2.25 percent cut of sales for phones using Motorola’s technology, including Apple’s iPhone. While Apple will probably address the Google/Motorola merger privately, sources claim it’ll address its fans in the first week of March to announce the iPad 3—or perhaps the iPad 2s would be a more appropriate name given Apple’s history. Marc Jacobs hopes “South Park” fans will come out in droves for the his latest additions in the “Protect the Skin You’re In” collection, part of the designer’s campaign benefiting the Interdisciplinary Melanoma Cooperative Group.
