From dropouts to lockouts, NBA owners and players revisited the bargaining table on Wednesday to see if there are any hopes of salvaging a basketball season.
College hoops marketers, however, aren’t letting the grass grow under their feet. NCAA basketball promoters are taking full advantage of the lockout, with Friday’s season opener marking more than just the first significant game since June, but a chance for sponsors to keep their names in the sport.
Sadly, one of the biggest names in the world of funnies will no longer keep us laughing come time to get the morning paper. Bil Keane, creator of the “Family Circus” comic strip—featured in nearly 1,500 newspapers countrywide—died Tuesday at the age of 89.
