This morning’s Obama presser: ‘I’ve got better things to do’

The president addressed the ‘birther’ conspiracy today, insisting he doesn’t ‘have time for this kind of silliness.’ What do you think of his statements?

On Wednesday, the White House released Obama’s “Certificate of Live Birth.” The Wall Street Journal reports: “The White House said Hawaii doesn’t generally release long-form birth certificates but did so at the president’s request.”

The president also held a five-minute press conference this morning to address the issue, in which he said: “Normally, I wouldn’t comment on something like this. I’ve got other things to do.”

According to Politico, the president also said:

“Now, this issue has been going on for two, two-and-a-half years now. I have to say that over the last two-and-a-half years, I have watched with bemusement. I’m puzzled to the degree. … We had every official in Hawaii, Democrat and Republican, every news outlet that has investigated this, confirm that, yes, in fact, I was born in Hawaii, August 4, 1961.
