Top congressional press secretary canned for sharing e-mails with NY Times

The move has ‘rattled the press-source relationship on Capitol Hill,’ reports Politico.

Issa, a Republican, is chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Politico called the 27-year-old Bardella “one of Capitol Hill’s top press secretaries,” but in another story noted that he’s “diligent and hard-working but with a cocky streak—someone who promoted himself as aggressively as he promoted his boss.”

Bardella was helping Times reporter Mark Leibovich research a book when he shared the e-mails, according to Politico.
