TV’s greatest pitchman, Billy Mays, dies

Television watchers know Billy Mays, the energetic pitchman from commercials and infomercials. If you have seen him on TV, he’s probably persuaded you, or nearly persuaded you, to buy something you don’t need. “This man has appeared on television this year just as much as Tiger Woods,” said CNBC’s Darren Rovell. “And just like the world’s number one golfer, the infomercial king generated billions of dollars in business.” Mays died Sunday.
