Twitter not biting Burger King’s hot dog concept
The new menu item is coming to the “King of Burgers” at the end of the month, but social media users were skeptical.
Hot dogs are coming to Burger King, and fast-food connoisseurs aren’t quite sure how to feel about it.
Starting Feb. 24, the self-proclaimed “king of burgers” will roll out a Classic Grilled Dog for $1.99, and a Chili Cheese Grilled Dog for $2.29 nationwide.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Alex Macedo, the chain’s president of North America said the hot dogs were a natural fit for the flame-grilled menu.
“We’ve worked to bring guests a hot dog that tastes like backyard barbecue,” Macedo told a CNN Money reporter. “Burger King started experimenting with hot dogs in five cities last year, and decided to go nationwide after those sales exceeded targets.” RELATED: Escalate your social media game at Ragan’s Disney best practices summit.
