University of Illinois students start Twitter campaign insulting chancellor
The whole incident leaves the university in a tough spot. It is almost obligated to respond to the racist and sexist attacks, but if it does, it’ll be at the expense of students.

We can’t continue turning away from holding students accountable for their behavior in digital spaces. “Safe spaces” are a university aspiration, but may disassociate online behavior from student life, which is concerning in an increasingly digital age.
