The presidential candidate was at a Minneapolis book signing on Tuesday when political activist Robert Erickson, also known as Nick Espinoza, approached Gingrich, pulled a cracker box full of glitter from his bag, and dumped it on him.
He shouted: “Welcome to Minneapolis. Feel the rainbow, and don’t let divisive politics hit you on your way out to the airport.”
Erickson was protesting a proposed amendment to the Minnesota constitution banning gay marriage.
