Watch: Steve Jobs’ incredible pitch to a California city council

If this whole tech thing doesn’t work out for him, Jobs certainly has a future in real estate sales—or local politics.

Of course, as all of you ex-local reporters know, companies need approval from their city council to build, well, anything—even when the company is Apple.

To that end, Jobs, who’s on medical leave from Apple, spoke to the Cupertino city council on Tuesday night about the project.

“We have a shot at building the best office building in the world,” he told them. “Architecture students will come here to see this.”

The pitch, say many tech reporters, was masterful—”Ultimate proof of Steve Jobs’ salesmanship,” wrote Valleywag‘s Ryan Tate—and it mirrored a presentation on a new tech gadget.
