What PR advice would you give Herman Cain?

Herman Cain is becoming an expert in this strategy.

When Politico broke the story that two women had accused him of sexual harassment and received payouts, Cain’s campaign clammed up.

Then, his team accused the media of political bias. Textbook.

Now, the GOP candidate is casting himself as a victim of “totally baseless and totally false charges.”

The story is in its third day—and even a Kardashian divorce couldn’t help derail it.

Of course, Cain and his advisors should have gotten way ahead of this story. They had time. According to published reports, Politico asked Cain for a comment about this story 10 days before it was published, which should have given Cain and his staffers ample time to prepare a response—hell, even to fire off a preemptive volley.

Instead, a reporter from Politico caught the former head of the National Restaurant Association flatfooted on Sunday morning as he peppered the candidate with questions, resulting in Cain’s awkward, echo response: “Have you ever been accused of sexual harassment?”
