Why women are the real power behind social media

The statistics don’t lie. Women are more present on most social sites than men are, and they’re more likely to interact with brands.


Women rule social media. It’s a proven fact. Research from Pew and Burst Media show that overall, women use the major social platforms at a higher rate than men—except LinkedIn. A higher percentage of women use quite a few channels, including Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter. Women are also using social more often. Thirty percent of women use social media channels “several times per day,” compared to 26 percent of men.
