Wired editor leaves staffers on layoff day — to promote book

What is it with these celebrity editors at Conde Nast magazines? First came reports that Vanity Fair Editor Graydon Carter was on vacation the day members of his staff were laid off. Now, Gawker is reporting that Wired Editor-in-Chief Chris Anderson left his employees mid-way through the day when layoffs hit that magazine. (Several top editors were cut from Wired .) Anderson was on his way to speak about his latest book.
