If you’re going to come to someone with an unsolicited sales pitch, it’s best to research what he or she does. Perhaps start by Googling that person.
Too bad no one told that to Dillon, a salesman at Drupal, which powers roughly 2 percent of the world’s websites. If Dillon had Googled the name Matt Mullenweg, he would have found out that Mullenweg developed WordPress, which, according to his easy-to-find Wikipedia page, powers 16 percent of the Web.
Therefore, it’s highly unlikely—as close to 100 percent as you can get without being 100 percent—that he would ever switch to Drupal to manage his “new web projects.”
Yet that’s exactly what Dillon asked in an email to Mullenweg, who posted the message to his blog. Here’s a sample:
