The real rules of English. Another one for the linguists vs. grammarians debate. Should we strictly adhere to traditional grammar rules and style guides, or is it proper to use language as its used and understood in the culture? Tom Chivers of the Telegraph gives his view: “We should admit that, first and foremost, it’s about aesthetic taste, not a Platonic form of the English language floating in eternal space.” Read the story here.
