YouTube and Pinterest seek to stop spam
The social media platforms announced measures to cut down on spammy content, but the changes could affect video marketers.
YouTube’s move may be the more controversial of the two, however, as the service aims to stop video makers from putting overlay brand logos (graphical title cards) on their videos.
For many video producers, this means potential lost revenue from sponsors who pay to have those cards in popular users’ videos. They can still have overlay sponsor cards if they cut YouTube into the deal.
