Texas swapped spots with Washington, grabbing first place on this year’s list. Wyoming, Virginia, Illinois, Michigan, Colorado, Delaware, Ohio and Utah also made the top 10.

Hawaii led the list of the worst states to make a living, with Oregon, Maine, West Virginia, Vermont, California, Montana, South Dakota, Rhode Island and Connecticut rounding out the terrible 10.
