5 (possible) reasons ‘Mad Men’ is delayed

The show’s fifth season won’t premiere until 2012; AMC blamed the delay on ‘non-cast negotiations.’ Maybe. Or maybe it’s due to one of these five reasons.

Season five of the popular show won’t premiere until 2012.

AMC, the network that airs “Mad Men,” said in a statement released Tuesday:

“While we are getting a later start than in years past due to ongoing, key non-cast negotiations, ‘Mad Men’ will be back for a fifth season in early 2012.”

“Key non-cast negotiations” sounds awfully vague, and since no one from the network is elaborating on what that means—though The New York Times this morning elaborates on the dispute between the show’s creator Matthew Weiner and AMC—please allow us.
