In a recent blog post, Kristien Vermoesen, a PR consultant from Brussels, described the importance of the relationship:

“Launching a single press campaign, without previous or follow-up contacts with your targeted media, will rarely generate extensive media coverage. The best way to step into a long-term, confident relationship with journalists is to offer them a continuous stream of interesting news and stories. Only when journalists remember your name or your firm, and know they can rely on you providing newsworthy stories, will they start contacting you for interviews or opinions.
