ABC News to cut as many as 300 employees
ABC News will begin reducing its staff by 20 percent, beginning with buyout offers that employees will receive today, according to The L.A. Times . “Many of those remaining in the pared-down news division will be expected to both produce and shoot their own stories, acting as ‘one-man bands,’ a model increasingly being adopted in television news,” The L.A. Times reported. Once the smoke clears at ABC, PR pros could be a big help to these overworked broadcast journalists.
