In 2009, he was charged with a felony for threatening to kill his wife, Brooke Mueller. According to police reports, Sheen started strangling Mueller, then held a knife to her throat. He did this on Christmas Day. In 2010, he allegedly threatened a hired escort, put his hands on her neck. He did this in New York's Plaza Hotel, while his ex-wife (Denise Richards), children slept down the hall. The blog Jezebel goes into far greater detail on Sheen's alleged abuse of women. I recommend reading it. No amount of Twitter hype should make us forget that this guy is a dirtbag. In the interest of fairness, Sheen denies to CNN's Pier Morgan that he has ever hit a women. This is laughable—and sad.
