Anatomy of a rebranding campaign: Sci Fi channel becomes SyFy
NBC Universal’s Sci Fi channel will soon change its name to SyFy to distinguish it from other similarly named cable channels. The rebranding campaign also includes a new Web site and a new tagline. No word yet on whether or not the new name will make it cool to watch reruns of Star Trek.
