‘Engagement agency’ delivers innovative work to a local market

For its anniversary, PR agency DEVENEY emphasized campaigns for hospitals, insurance, and other health care clients.



Celebrating its 20th anniversary, DEVENEY recently underwent a core transition, redefining itself as an “engagement agency” focused on research, strategy, content and implementation performed in a “hypertargeted” manner designed to engage audiences. Its success has won DEVENEY the “Agency of the Year” award in Ragan’s 2017 Health Care PR & Marketing Awards.

DEVENEY isn’t a national agency—it focuses on Louisiana. Its scope of service includes three divisions: advertising, public relations and digital. DEVENEY’s effectiveness is evident in the fact that it serves half of the hospitals in New Orleans, delivering PR, crisis communications, creative and digital services. 

During the past year, DEVENEY has developed a system-wide crisis plan, conducted goals-based media outreach programs, handled a medical center’s first anniversary, secured recognition for a hospital’s CEO and much more, all indicating that DEVENEY’s staff has the competencies required to meet any health care organization’s communication needs. 

DEVENEY’s rebranding as an “engagement agency” has also produced an increase in requests for proposals and increased work from existing clients.
