Citigroup looking to make up for forgotten settlement payments

The bank only sort of apologized for the oversight.

Citigroup can’t seem to escape negative press surrounding the fallout from the country’s mortgage and foreclosure crisis.

The company is looking to make things right with 23,000 people who are owed total compensation of around $20 million in the form of settlement checks. The sizes of the checks range from a few hundred dollars to more than $100,000. The bank is only sending the checks from a settlement made two years ago after being prompted by regulators.
