Citing his conscience, Gov. Paterson’s communication director quits

On Thursday, Peter Kauffmann, the top communicator for New York Gov. David Paterson, resigned, saying that he “cannot in good conscience continue in my current position,” reports The Wall Street Journal . Paterson is embroiled in a scandal involving allegations that he assisted in a cover-up after one of his closest aides was accused of assaulting a woman.
