Delta gives passengers free pizza after smoke-filled flight

The plane was forced to land after problems with one of the plane’s engines caused the cockpit and cabin to fill with smoke; the airline responded with complimentary food and drinks.

According to several reports, passengers were treated to free pizza in Charleston before taking off on a different plane.

“60 Minutes” producer Katherine Davis happened to be on the plane, and shot video. Here’s what she told CBS News about the experience:

We could hear the beeping of the smoke alarm and it was pretty quickly—the cabin was filling up with smoke pretty quickly—so yeah, it was a little nerve wracking,” Davis said. “They told all of us to put our heads down in our laps because the air would be fresher.
