Depression—and hope—are the focus of new video PSAs

Several national organizations want to ‘change the conversation around mental illness.’ Communicators are optimistic the ‘Find Your Words’ campaign will resonate with kids and adults.

There’s a yearning for hope that many people with depression bear, and many folks who aren’t familiar with the wrath of the disease are learning about it.

Three new video PSAs that address the stigma of mental illness have made their way into traditional and social media. Kaiser Permanente is one of the groups leading the effort, which launched Oct. 3. The initiative includes a special focus on African-American children, many of whom suffer in silence.
