Six Notre Dame football players were arrested over the weekend. One player is accused of punching a cop outside a bar following fight, and five others face charges for marijuana and gun possession.
Cornerback Devin Butler, who faces battery and resisting arrest charges, was indefinitely suspended from the team.
In a separate incident, five players—Te’Von Coney, Max Redfield, Kevin Stepherson Jr., Ashton White and Dexter Williams—were arrested following a traffic stop about 50 miles away from Notre Dame’s South Bend campus. Three of the five passengers face unlicensed gun charges. All of them face a misdemeanor marijuana charge.
