GM’s new marketing plan: TV commercials, starring a rich businessman

On Tuesday, General Motors planned to discuss its new marketing push with its board of directors. Advertising Age is reporting today that part of the new marketing plan will feature 60 second commercials starring Board Chairman Ed Whitacre, 67, the former CEO of AT&T, who was installed as chairman after GM’s bankruptcy. “The spot will set up a wider corporate TV campaign featuring commercials about each of GM’s four surviving brands: Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac,” Advertising Age …
