Grassroots Yo campaign urges McDonald’s to sell an ice cream pie

What seems like an inane campaign for pie is notable for the technology organizers are using.

We’ve seen the Web used for all sorts of purposes, from the noble to the nefarious to the completely inane.

A new campaign that edges toward the inane/absurd aims to convince McDonald’s to launch “The McFried Ice Cream Pie.” It’s essentially the same McDonald’s pie that has been scalding roofs of mouths for generations, but with soft serve inside.

It’s worth taking a look at the campaign because of the means they’re using to do it.

The campaign’s creators remain anonymous, but they’re using the app Yo, which allows one-word messages, to encourage users to send a yo to “ICECREAMPIE,” which they plan to count and somehow share with McDonald’s.
