French contacted ABC Action News of Tampa—among other outlets, I presume—which published the following:
We obtained a letter written by Rick French, a public relations person, who tells us he was hired by “juror number 6,” a married father of two. The letter [said] the juror he represents “… is willing to consider granting one or more media interviews so long as the opportunities are paid. He will not entertain any offers that don’t include compensation.”
French would not divulge how much his client is asking for, but did say, “We put what this juror asked us to put out there. He did not set a price, no one set a price. Whether he wants to do anything… is within his right.”
According to The New York Times, there is a price—a cool $50,000.
