Herman Cain suspends his campaign, quotes Pokemon movie
The GOP presidential candidate bowed out of the race on Saturday, giving a speech in which he cites a rather bizarre source of inspiration.
In his announcement, Cain made a rather odd reference to an animated movie.
“I believe these words came from the Pokemon movie,” Cain said. “Life can be a challenge. Life can seem impossible. It’s never easy when there’s so much on the line. But you and I can make a difference. There’s a mission just for you and me.” He continued: “Just look inside and you will find just what you can do.”
According to Politico, Cain had previously cited the source as “a poet.”
The announcement comes roughly one month after sexual harassment claims against Cain surfaced. A woman also said she carried on a 13-year affair with Cain. He denied those charges during his speech on Saturday. Cain’s wife, Gloria, behind him during his announcement.
Among Cain’s problem, said media trainer Brad Phillips in a column last month in PR Daily, were his rolling disclosures. Phillips wrote:
