If you live in the U.S., it’s nearly 200 mg—2-0-0! Sorry, we’re already way past that amount this morning. Read on to learn which countries drink the most and how all that java (and soda) might be affecting your health.

While the average worldwide consumption of caffeine is 76 mg, Americans average 200 mg per day.

And cheers to our friends up north and across the pond—Canadians and Brits rival our love for caffeine. Each nation also averages 200 mg a day.

To put that number in perspective, a 16 oz. (grande) Starbucks coffee has 330 mg of caffeine in it, according to Mayo Clinic.

Too bad the celebration might be cut short. It turns out the health hazards of coffee are as bountiful as our cup is full—or so claims this infographic. Go ahead and brew over that the next time you’re standing in line at Starbucks, preparing to order a grande iced insomnia or a venti bout of coffee-breath.
