In Indianapolis, ‘the spin-doctor way’ doesn’t work

The Indianapolis Public Relations Society will name Bob Gildea, 77, its second-ever PR legend. Among the reasons Gildea is so respected in Indy: “To be a PR guy for a long time, you have to deal in the truth,” Tom King, a business consultant and former president of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce told the Indianapolis Star ‘s John Ketzenberger. “The spin-doctor way won’t work for very long.” The PR industry needs more people like Gildea, Ketzenberger said.
