Social media has heightened the ability to talk about and consume sports info around the clock—to the delight of many and chagrin of a few (wives and girlfriends, mainly).
A recent study from GMR Marketing sought to determine the impact of social media on sports. Here are a few highlights from the study:
• While watching a game, 83 percent of respondents say they check sports social media (63 percent while they’re in the stadium);
• 68 percent said they love, like or are indifferent to marketing messages or sponsored tweets from sports personalities;
• One third of respondents check sports social media during a meeting.
