Inventor of TelePrompTer dies

Hub Schlafly Jr. created the device in the 1950s to help soap opera actors remember their lines.

What prompted him to invent it?

In the 1950s, he was a TV engineer and invented the TelePrompTer to help soap opera actors remember their lines. (Two weeks ago, ABC canceled two of its most well-known soap operas, “All My Children” and “One Life to Live.” Coincidence?)
