Job of the Day: Managing editor and editorial assistant with Penguin Group

Did you know that penguins mate for life? That’s why we couldn’t stand breaking these two flightless lovebirds apart.

Penguin Group, meanwhile, is looking for a couple of fine companions to fill editorial roles at the company.

The first is an opening as a managing editor for the company’s Grosset & Dunlap and PSS! (Price Stern Sloan) divisions. In this job, the managing editor helps coordinate titles on children’s paperbacks, as well as content for some of Penguin’s more high-minded books, such as a personal favorite, Mad Libs.

The second job is an editorial assistant for Penguin’s NAL (New American Library) sector. The editorial assistant not only reads and writes evaluations for manuscripts, but also aids the office and its top editors by maintaining info on all of its titles.
