am was a ham for the camera, I got plucked from class to sit in the coveted anchor’s chair. My first attempt at live reporting brought down the house. Seriously—I fell out of my seat and knocked over part of the set.
I learned two valuable lessons that day:
1. They’re not kidding when they tell you to keep all four legs of the chair on the floor; and
2. I’m more comfortable in a “be heard, not seen” kind of role.
