Lawsuit: Detroit’s top PR pro turned mayor’s office into ‘den of chaos’
Karen Dumas, the mayoral spokesperson who’s among the targets of the suit, calls the allegations ‘ridiculous.’

A whistle-blower lawsuit brought against Dumas, Bing, and the city claims she was an overbearing boss, and that she canceled a meeting with Sen. Carl Levin so she could go shopping at Burberry while the mayor sat waiting in the car.
Some city officials are calling for Dumas’ resignation, but it doesn’t look like she’ll be giving up her $141,000 salary any time soon.
