Legendary JWT firm shutters its Chicago office
On Friday, advertising agency JWT closed its Chicago office—a place that was once the largest office of the largest advertising network in the world. JWT North America President Rosemarie Ryan traveled to Chicago Friday to inform the 50 remaining Chicago employees of the New York-based company’s decision. A few of those 50 might be placed elsewhere in the company, but the majority will be out-of-work. JWT’s Chicago office never recovered after losing its Kraft Foods account in 2007.
