Median salary for PR majors is $50,000
That’s in line with journalism, communication, and history majors, according to 2010 U.S. Census data.

According to 2010 Census data (published on The Wall Street Journal website), the median salary for a PR and advertising major is $50,000—the same as journalism, communications, and history majors. The media salary for English majors is $48,000.
Among PR majors, the unemployment rate is 6.1 percent, compared with that of journalism majors, which is 7 percent, according to the Census data.
