More bad news for journalism: Report says local reporting has declined
Less coverage of state governments and municipalities means the powers that be are proceeding unchecked by media watchdogs. This probably won’t end well.

Seriously. If it isn’t doom, it’s gloom. If it isn’t layoffs, it’s declining readership and dwindling ad revenue. Perhaps The New York Times can cheer up this reporter:
Here’s a headline from today: “A Federal Study Finds That Local Reporting Has Waned.”
