A recent Rasmussen Poll revealed that 40 percent of voters favor building more nuclear plants in the U.S.—down 9 percent from February 2010.
Anti-nuclear activists have co-opted the disaster at Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, which is continuously unfolding and filling the 24-hour news cycles, to call for the closing of plants worldwide.
The nuclear power industry is pushing back. It launched a PR blitz to tell Americans that they’re in no imminent danger.
