Oh, snap! Rwanda president and journalist spar on Twitter

You do not call Paul Kagame ‘despotic and deluded’—not unless you want a 140-character smackdown.

Sarah Palin, for example, enjoys firing off a 140-character jab at the media from her BlackBerry every so often.

Last weekend, Rwandan President Paul Kagame joined the ranks of the tweeting/tirading political class.

According to The Telegraph, British journalist Ian Birrell tweeted a link to a Financial Times story about Kagame and called him “despotic and deluded.”

Within hours, Kagame responded—via Twitter. He wrote (in two tweets):
