Ohio museum apologizes after breastfeeding mom nabs attention online

The Internet was up in arms after an uninformed employee told a mom to stop breastfeeding on company property. The organization says the staffer was mistaken.

One mom got the whole Internet talking—and the PR team of one Ohio museum doing serious damage control.

The Western Reserve Historical Society’s Cleveland History Center is joining a long line of organizations that have apologized for their employees telling patrons to stop breastfeeding.

Emily Locke posted the following to her Facebook page after someone at the center told her that breastfeeding in public was “against the museum policy”:

The museum has no policy against breastfeeding, and says mothers are permitted to do so anywhere they choose while visiting the center.
