Facebook released its Memology list 2011, which includes the site’s most popular topics, memes, and—initialisms, of which ‘OMG’ is not one of them. Find out what is.
We learned last month, for instance, that the 20 most shared stories on the social media site in 2011 reveal us to be superstitious voyeurs who love animals and want to be better parents.
Now, Facebook has released its Memology 2011 list, including the top 10 global topics of 2011. When we look back at this year, these are the things that we’ll likely remember talking about:
1. Osama bin Laden’s death;
2. Packers win the Super Bowl;
3. Casey Anthony found not guilty;
4. Charlie Sheen;
5. Steve Jobs’ death;
6. The Royal Wedding;
7. Amy Winehouse’s death;
8. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3;
9. Military operations begin in Libya;
10. Hurricane Irene.
