Fox 29 Philadelphia anchor Joyce Evans probably stretched too far, though, with a tweet promoting Sunday night’s newscast. In the tweet she compared real-life the real-life shooting of six people to the fictional crime series:

Thought “Breaking Bad” was hot last Sunday? @FOX29philly See who’s breakin’ bad in SW Philly leavin’ 6 people SHOT – Tonite at Ten!

— Joyce Evans (@JoyceEvansFox29) October 7, 2013

The nearly 4,200 retweets of Evans’ post seem to be out of astonishment more than anything, if the replies are any indication. For example:

@JoyceEvansFox29 @FOX29philly this tweet cannot be real life. No one would be this stupid.

Other commenters publicly scolded Evans for the tweet:

.@JoyceEvansFox29 @FOX29philly This is the tweet that highlights why people dislike journos. Irresponsible and tasteless.
