President Obama endorses same sex marriage; Twitter explodes
Tweets have been flying after the president said same-sex marriage should be legal. Mitt Romney, meanwhile, told reporters he is in favor of a constitutional amendment against same-sex marriage.
The statement echoed loudly across traditional and social media. Within minutes (perhaps seconds) of the president’s statement, “Same-Sex Marriage Should” and “Mr. President” became trending topics on Twitter. “ABC’s Robin Roberts,” the journalist who conducted the interview with Obama, also became a trending topic.
Several more topics related to the interview started trending, among them #MarriageEquality and Log Cabin Republicans.
